Dan Schneider Sues ‘Quiet on Set’ Producers: Says They Destroyed His Legacy

In mid-March, “Quiet on Set: The Dark Side Of Kids TV” became a bombshell in Hollywood. In series form, the documentary exposed the mistreatment experienced by employees at Nickelodeon when Dan Schneider was the lead producer of the children’s series.

Abuses of power, vanity and inappropriate comments were some of the situations members of their creative teams had to endure. Additionally, it was revealed that Drake Bell was sexually abused by Brian Peck.

Back then, Dan Schneider responded to the accusations with a video on his YouTube account, but now, he’s taking it a step further and taking legal action.

Dan Schneider Sues ‘Quiet on Set’ Documentary Producers for Defamation

According to reports from “Variety” and “Deadline,” the producer of the Nickelodeon series filed a lawsuit on May 1 in Los Angeles Superior Court, accusing Warner Bros., Maxine Productions, Sony Pictures and producers Mary Robertson and Emma Schwartz for defamation.

In the document, Schneider claims that “Quiet on Set” destroyed his “legacy and reputation.”

While the producer admitted that he was “at times blind to the pain that some of his behavior caused certain colleagues, subordinates and cast members”, the documentary made him look like “child sexual abuse”, which he “isn’t”. “This will forever damage his reputation.”

Similarly, he distanced himself from the sexual abuse committed against child actors.

After the lawsuit was filed, Schneider released a statement in which he admitted he “was a bad leader at times” but that he “has no choice but to take legal action against the people behind” the documentary.

“In their successful attempt to mislead viewers and boost ratings, they went beyond reporting the truth and falsely implied that I participated in or facilitated horrific crimes for which real child predators have been prosecuted and convicted. “I have no objection to anyone pointing out my failings as a leader, but it is wrong to mislead millions of people into the false conclusion that I was somehow involved in heinous acts such as those committed by child predators,” he said.

At this time, the producers have not publicly responded to the legal action.
