The maps show crucial information during the tragedy in the state

In collaboration with the Brazilian Geological Survey (SGB-CPRM), Google is using artificial intelligence to analyze hydrological data to predict river floods in Brazil, using the tool Flood Hub. The region has several alert points activated within the state, such as Rio Uruguai and Rio Ibirapuitã, in Alegrete; Ibicuí River to Manoel Viana; The Santa Maria River in Rosário do Sul and the Taquari River to the towns of Encantado, Muçum and Estrela.

Google Maps has also been an important tool in finding information. In Porto Alegre, general interruptions of public transport services are also felt.
