Who Will Die In ‘Stranger Things Season 4 Part 2’?

Who Will Die In ‘Stranger Things Season 4 Part 2’?

‘Stranger Things’ Season 4 Part 2 is just around the corner, these are the characters we think are most likely to die.

Spoilers for ‘Stranger Things Season 4, Part 1’

The fourth season of Stranger Things was bigger and darker than ever, with that epic final twist of the first part that raised the expectations (and concerns) of the fans to new heights.

‘Game of Thrones’ inspired ‘Stranger Things’ Vecna, the series’ most menacing antagonist to date, who wields her villainy by stalking traumatized teenagers with nightmares before murdering them in truly grisly fashion.

The reveal of Vecna as test subject 001, aka Henry Creel, in the ending of part one sets up part two for an action-packed battle between Hawkins’ misfits and the tentacled creature, but it also has fans worried. for the fate of some of his favorite characters.

After all, it’s not like the Duffer brothers have been willing to ease that concern. In fact, they have only increased it by warning us that we have every reason to be concerned.

“I don’t really want to say it, but I would be worried about the characters that are going to go into part two, for sure,” explained Ross Duffer.

“I hope that’s the point, because it’s a darker season and kids aren’t kids anymore. And there’s a kind of ominous feeling that things might not go right. Now, whether they die or not, we’re going to have to see him”.

That said, sadly, these are the characters we think are most likely to die in Part 2.

    They will most likely die:

    dr brenner

millie bobby brown as eleven, matthew modine as dr brenner, stranger things season 4 part 2

The first is Dr. Martin Brenner. Season four saw the return of Eleven’s “dad” after he was left for dead for the previous two seasons, and it’s safe to say his return was not well received.

After Brenner forces El to relive her traumatic past in order to regain her powers, it looks like she’s going to be more powerful than ever. So she wouldn’t be surprised if she killed her first enemy in order to escape her clutches and defeat Vecna (again).

After all, the eighth episode is titled “Dad,” which suggests that the conflict between El and Brenner is far from over.

It’s also possible that Brenner went through some kind of redemption arc before he was killed (see Billy in season three). Lieutenant Sullivan, as we know, believes that El is the perpetrator of the heinous murders in Hawkins and is looking for him.

In the trailer for ‘Stranger Things, season 4, part 2’ it seems that Sullivan has managed to locate her while the soldiers storm the underground bunker. Perhaps Brenner experiences a sudden surge of empathy and sacrifices himself to save Eleven.

In any case, Brenner has served the purpose of his return, which was to help El regain his powers, so it makes sense for his arc to come to an end in part 2.

    dr owens

Dr. Sam Owens has been a recurring character since the first season, and in the third season, he helps Hopper officially adopt Eleven.

Therefore, it was surprising to both El and the viewers that this supposed ally tricked her into going to the underground bunker and teaming up with Brenner.

Despite this betrayal, it is clear that Owens cares for El. Like Brenner, then, Owens could die helping El escape.

    Murray

winona ryder as joyce byers, brett gelman as murray bauman, stranger things, season 4

Murray Bauman’s softer side was shown to us in season three, when his character was promoted to a more prominent role and formed an unlikely friendship with Russian scientist Alexei.

In season four, he was more than willing to risk his life and fly to Soviet Russia with Joyce to save Hopper, showing off some impressive karate moves while doing so.

While we hope the trio survives, we can’t help but think it would be too good to be true if all three escaped Russia unscathed.

Hopper is unlikely to be killed again, and there would be a riot if Joyce was killed just as she and Hop reunite.

Unfortunately, that leaves us with Murray. In the trailer he is seen happily wielding a flamethrower, so maybe the “Bald Eagle” ends up on fire (literally).

    Jonathan

finn wolfhard as mike wheeler, charlie heaton as jonathan byers and noah schnapp as will byers, stranger things season 4

We’re sorry to say it, especially to #Jancy fans, but we don’t think things will go well for Jonathan in the second volume.

Jonathan has been around since day one and was the glue that held the Byers family together after Will’s disappearance and Bob Newby’s untimely passing *sigh*.

However, it was shelved during the last season, and for lack of a better expression, it ceased to make sense.

His sole purpose was to provide comic relief, get high with his new friend Argyle, and complain about his long-distance relationship with Nancy.

Don’t get us wrong: it will be heartbreaking to see him go, but it looks like this is all set up for his death.

There has also been a romantic connection between Steve and Nancy that has been rekindled this season, so Jonathan’s death would clear the way for the ex-lovers to reunite.

    Eddie

joseph quinn as eddie munson, stranger things season 4

The introduction of Eddie “The Freak” Munson has caused a frenzy in the fandom and there has only been praise for the leader of the Hellfire Club since the fourth season premiered.

The sensitive metalhead is everyone’s new favorite character, seemingly right up there with Steve in that regard, leaving us fearful for his safety.

After all, it wouldn’t be the first time we’ve been introduced to a lovable character only to be killed off, a formula that’s been used in every season so far.

In the first season, it was Barb and her unfortunate encounter with a demogorgon in a swimming pool. Bob, Joyce’s new boyfriend, made a heroic sacrifice in season two. Alexei, the sweet Russian scientist who just wanted to drink cherry slushies and watch cartoons, was killed at Hawkins’ 4th of July fair in season three.

Eddie certainly fits the formula, and we’re afraid he has “Bob” written all over him.

In the part 2 trailer, Eddie is in the Upside Down pounding away on his guitar, as Avril Lavigne would say. It seems that the rocker will use his epic guitar solo to save the day or to serve as a distraction for something that, as we have learned, can end in tragedy.

Although his popularity could be his salvation, we don’t think it’s likely that Eddie will make it out of the Upside Down alive.

    Possible death:

    Steve

joe keery, stranger things, season 4, volume 2

It’s hard to even spell the words, but there’s a real chance our favorite babysitter, aka Steve Harrington, might flip it.

The reason is that both the Duffers and Shawn Levy haven’t exactly been shy about warning us that the sequel is set to send viewers into emotional turmoil and “hit you right in the heart.”

And what character could do that more than our Steve?

But not only us, the fans, would be devastated; there are several important characters with whom he has a strong relationship, which makes his death even more heartbreaking.

He is Robin’s best friend and is the only person who knows that she is gay, he and Nancy seem to have unfinished business and he is like a big brother to Lucas, Max and especially Dustin.

If Steve’s death is a reality, we will pray that Kate Bush makes a deal with God and finds someone to replace him.

    argyles

eduardo franco as argyle, noah schnapp as will, finn wolfhard as mike, charlie heaton as jonathan, stranger things season 4 part 2

Argyle is another character whose death is a possibility. His sole purpose, much like Jonathan’s, is to provide comic relief, which was greatly appreciated given the darker tone of season four.

We also appreciate the long-haired pizza guy who provided the getaway car for Jonathan, Mike and Will.

Other than that, we haven’t really gotten into the character enough to mourn his death, which means he could be used in place of other characters.

    Robin

maya hawke as robin buckley and joe keery as steve harrington, stranger things season 4

Lastly, Robin was a fan favorite when she was introduced to us in season three and became an essential member of the Scoops crew.

The teenager managed to escape the formula of being brought into the mainstream for the sole purpose of dying, which would make it all the more surprising that this season broke that mold and happened now.

Recall, however, that in the trailer he ominously tells Steve, “I have this terrible feeling that this time it might not work out for us.” So, if the series wanted to go all the way with ‘Game of Thrones,’ they might die together.

If Robin dies, it would contribute to the harmful trope that gay characters never have happy endings. So we hope that is not the case.

‘Stranger Things, season 4, part 2’, premieres on July 1, streaming on Netflix.
