‘Stranger Things’: This is how forgetting Will’s birthday could be solved

The creators of the Netflix series consider making a “George Lucas”

Season 4 of ‘Stranger Things’ is breaking records and has become a phenomenon in the Netflix series catalog, recalling the success of its first season.

Several of the episodes of this fourth season have been cast among the best episodes of ‘Stranger Things’, despite the fact that the fans spotted a very important mistake during the course of the series.

Season 4 of ‘Stranger Things has its pros and cons. No matter how much money or how many people are involved in a production, mistakes happen. Will Byers’ (Noah Schnapp) birthday had been set as March 22. in a previous episode of ‘Stranger Things’ but, in the second episode of the fourth season, that date passed without any other characters mentioning it. Poor Will.

In a conversation with Variety, the Duffer brothers confessed that they are considering doing a “George Lucas” and change the date of Will’s birthday retrospectively.

We’re thinking her new birthday will be May 22, because “May” can fit in Winona’s mouth. [Ryder] in the season 2 scene where Joyce says the date of Will’s birthday. So it would be doing a “George Lucas” with the situation.

The creators of ‘Stranger Things’ refer to when Lucas made changes to the original Star Wars movies by remastering them in high definition for the home market, adding digital effects that fans did not like too much.

Matt Duffer admitted that the fact that none of the characters remember Will’s birthday is “too sad” and “doesn’t make any narrative sense”. He also added that this would not be the first time they have made changes to previous chapters, but he did not elaborate on them.

Ross Duffer said that actually they already changed some shots in the most recent season after it premiered. “Some of the visual effects,” Ross explained. “It’s not like changing a story, but you’re essentially patching shots. Netflix said, I don’t think people are allowed to patch opening week and even the weekend. And we said : ‘Well, why not?’ And they said: ‘Well, it makes us nervous‘. And we thought, ‘Well maybe we’ll try this time‘. And it turned out fine.”
