This summer, Deadpool will make his MCU debut alongside Wolverine, a character returning to the big screen after a 7-year absence since Hugh Jackman bid farewell to the mutant in ‘Logan’.
For “Deadpool & Wolverine” we will again see Morena Baccarin (Vanessa), Brianna Hildebrand (Negasonic Teenage Warhead), Rob Delaney (Peter), Leslie Uggams (Al) and Karan Soni (Dopinder), although a familiar character from the franchise was left out.
Josh Brolin Opens Up About Returning To Marvel As Cable In ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ Rumors
Although it was originally listed on IMDb for the film, Josh Brolin, who played Cable in “Deadpool 2,” revealed that it was all a mistake. In a recent interview with ‘The Playlist’, the actor compared the Marvel Universe to a more complex maze than the series he also stars in, ‘Outer Range’.
Brolin expressed his disappointment in a light-hearted way, stressing how much he enjoyed playing Cable and how much fun it was to work in that universe.
Despite his absence from the film, he was full of praise for his co-stars, especially Hugh Jackman, who plays Wolverine. Brolin emphasized the union of these characters as “just fantastic”.
Who is Cable, the character played by Josh Brolin in ‘Deadpool 2’?
When 20th Century Fox was not yet part of Disney, it released “Deadpool 2”, a movie for adults in which mutants had to face a new and powerful villain: Cable.
Cable is a time-traveling soldier from a damaged future whose mission is to kill the young mutant Russell Collins in order to save his wife and daughter, who die at the hands of said character.
This character is characterized by having a metallic cybernetic arm and a glowing red eye, as a result of being infected by a techno-organic virus. He initially clashes with Deadpool and the X-Force team, but eventually joins forces with them to try and stop Russell.
The movie “Deadpool & Wolverine” opens in Mexico on July 25, while in the United States it will open on July 26.
