As Panthers wins Sony’s Brazilian series

Sony Pictures Television announced, Thursday (9), that it will produce a new spin-off series from The Panthersa famous franchise launched in the 70s, the highlight, however, was the version of the story of the special agents, which will be Brazilian and with a more teenage touch – very reminiscent of the famous series. Three fantastic spies, design that the 2000s generation should remember.

In an official statement, producer Joe D’Ambrosia said the production is supported by “a narrative full of hooks, but which remains faithful to the original premise of the series: mystery, adventure, comedy and the empowerment of young girls.

The original series of The Pantherswhich lasted from 1976 to 1981, marked generations, bringing Farrah Fawcett, Kate Johnson and Jaclyn Smith to stardom – and at the same time transformed the trio into sexual symbols weather.

The production has been adapted and revitalized since the 2000s, with the arrival of the As Panthers AND The panthers, draggingreleased in 2000 and 2003. Joining actresses Lucy Liu, Drew Barrymore, and Cameron Diaz, the films grossed more than $520 million at the global box office, being considered the franchise’s biggest success.

More recently, however, a remake of the saga with Kristen Stewart, Elizabeth Banks and Ella Balinska did not please fans of previous productions at all. Released in 2019, the film grossed just over $70 million.
