The British nobleman’s queer love story with the son of the President of the United States will continue streaming

Prime Video has announced the sequel to “Red, White and Blue Blood 2”. Confirmation of the sequence was published on the social networks of the Amazon platform.

Released in August 2023, the first film starred Taylor Zakhar Perez (“The Kissing Booth 3”) as Alex Claremont-Diaz, son of the President of the United States, and Nicholas Galitzine (“Cinderella”) as British Prince Henry . The two have a lot in common: extraordinary beauty, undeniable charisma, international popularity and a total contempt for each other. Separated by an ocean, their rivalry was never an issue, until a disastrous – and very public – clash during a royal event becomes tabloid fodder, potentially jeopardizing relations between the United States and Great Britain. at the worst possible time.

To control the damage, their powerful families force the two rivals into a gradual “truce”. But what starts as a fake, Instagrammable friendship turns into something more meaningful than Alex or Henry could imagine. Alex soon finds himself embroiled in a secret romance with a surprisingly awkward Henry, which could complicate his mother’s re-election campaign and implode relations between the two nations once and for all.

The romantic comedy is an adaptation of Casey McQuiston’s best-selling book of the same name, which had no literary sequel. Therefore, no details are yet known about the new film. However, in the bonus chapter of the collector’s edition, it is revealed that in the years following the book, Alex and Henry are still living happily together, with Alex studying law and Henry continuing his previous work as a philanthropist and preemptively abdicating his place in the British line of succession. The two are also planning a small private wedding.

It’s unclear whether the same team will be responsible for the sequel. The direction and screenplay for “Red, White and Blue Blood” were written by Tony-winning playwright Matthew López (“The Inheritance”), making his feature film debut. Greg Berlanti (the creator of “Arrowverse” and director of “Love, Simon”) was producing, and the supporting cast included Uma Thurman (“Kill Bill”) as the President of the United States, as well as Clifton Collins Jr. (“Westworld”), Sarah Shahi (“Black Adam”), Rachel Hilson (“Love, Victor”), Stephen Fry (“Sandman”), Ellie Bamber (“Willow”) and Thomas Flynn (“Bridgerton”) .
