Bridgerton on Netflix: These 2 iconic characters are not in season 3

Fans of The Bridgerton Chronicles only have a few days to wait until they discover the first part of Season 3 of the Netflix series. Hosted by showrunner Jess Brownell, Scandal and Anne’s Invention screenwriter, these new episodes promise plenty of twists and sensual romance.

Because Season 3 of Bridgerton focuses on one of the favorite couples of readers of the Julia Quinn novels on which the Netflix series is based: Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton).

Colin Bridgerton is the third member of the Bridgerton family to find his soulmate, following Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) with Kate Sharma (Simon Ashley) and Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dinevoor) with Simon Bassett (Rege-Jean Page).

Will the ex-lovers continue their romantic, dramatic and family adventure of high society London in 19th century Regency England?

Will Daphne and Simon be in Bridgerton season 3?

It won’t be the first Bridgerton couple. Indeed, Simon was already absent from Bridgerton season 2, his interpreter Régé-Jean Page wanting to devote himself to other projects. The actor was involved in the casting of Anthony and Joe Russo’s The Gray Man and Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Dale’s Dungeons & Dragons: Thieves’ Honor.

And there’s no question of Rege-Jean Page returning to Bridgerton. The actor was very clear on this topic several times and even explained it variety That he wasn’t against casting the Duke of Hastings if Netflix wanted it:

“They’re free to do whatever they want. Shonda and I had a real conversation at the end of season one. And we were happy with how it ended.”

Meanwhile, Phoebe Dinevor returned in season two as Daphne Bridgerton to support her brother Anthony in his search for love. But the actor did not return for the third season, given that his contract expired, as he explained ScreenRant Last year.

But Phoebe Dinevor, who we saw in the movie Fair Game on Netflix and the series Ten Percent (the British remake of Ten Percent), does not rule out returning for other seasons. “Unfortunately I’m not in the third season, but potentially in the future”he explained.

“I just can’t wait to watch season 3 as a viewer” Phoebe Dynevor concluded. And he’s not the only one, as all Bridgerton fans can’t wait to discover new episodes of the Netflix series.

The first episode of The Bridgerton Chronicles Season 3 will be released online on May 16th on Netflix.
