Red Dead Redemption will finally be released on PC

Data from the Rockstar launcher suggests that a port of the first Red Dead Redemption and the Undead Nightmare DLC will finally arrive on PC

Data obtained from the official launcher of Rock star on PC indicate that the first Red Dead Redemption and the DLC Nightmare of the undead will finally receive an official port for computers. The classic released in 2010 for PlayStation 3 AND Xbox 360 it was exclusive to consoles, even after receiving versions for Nintendo Switch and PS4but so far only it worked on PC via emulation.

Rockstar hasn’t commented on the leak, but considering the information is already in its official game library documentation, it’s likely that the launch is close.

It’s worth mentioning Red Dead Redemption for PS4 and Switch received some graphical updatesso the PC port should be based on this latest version, possibly with further texture reworks and the introduction of new technologies.

Room for many improvements

Rockstar’s silence on the re-release of one of its most acclaimed titles may be a warning sign, judging by the initial release of the remastered GTA collection in 2021. The remastered ports of GTA III, Deputy City AND San Andreas They have arrived full of bugs and performance issuesand many of them have not yet been corrected.

On the other hand, even without any official support from Rockstar, the modding community can already run the file Red Dead Redemption original by Xbox 360 via emulation at 4K and 60 FPS. In itself this shows that the graphics engine will not be an obstacle to a competent port, but it all depends on how much Rockstar invests in this relaunch.

The good news is that it brings it RDR1 With native PC support, eliminating the need for emulators, it provides even more material for indie modders to work with.
