Zapping will show the world equestrian circuit in streaming

Streaming brings the millionaire Global Champions Tour to the Brazilian public

Zapping, the leading TV streaming platform in Latin America, has officially announced the agreement for the exclusive broadcast of the Global Champions Tour 2024, the global jumping circuit. The exhibition of the event, which has a prize pool of R$ 200 million, takes place across the Sports zapping, proprietary channel dedicated to sports content and available in the Full package (channel 55). The competition will debut next Sunday (19th), starting at 11.30 am, with the decisive events of the stage in Madrid, Spain, the 5th stage of the competition.

Zapping’s coverage will feature narration by Dudu Monsanto and comments by André Sousa, a journalist and equestrian professional for over 32 years. The professional has experience in several equestrian sports broadcasts, including the Global Champions Tour and the Beijing, London and Rio Olympics on BandSports, as well as the Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro on the Terra portal.

“The inclusion of the circuit in our portfolio reaffirms Zapping’s commitment to broadcasting high-quality sporting events,” says Chico Vargas, Chief Content Officer at Zapping. “It is an honor to allow our viewers to follow up close the skills and dedication of the best riders and teams in the world, promoting not only the sport, but also the culture and tradition surrounding the sport,” he adds.

The competition

Divided into 15 stages, taking place in different parts of the world, with a big decision scheduled for late November, in Saudi Arabia, the circuit brings together leading riders from around the world. Competitions take place both individually (Longines Global Champions Tour) and in teams (Global Champions League).

It is worth mentioning that Brazil is represented in the competition by some of its most important names in the sport, such as Francisco Musa, Eduardo de Menezes, Luiz Felipe de Azevedo Filho and Marlon Zanotelli. Participant in the Tokyo Olympic Games, Zanotelli, in fact, was one of the protagonists of the last stage held in Shanghai, China, when he won two CSI5* races: the time trials with obstacles of 1.50 and 1.60 m . With four stages completed this year, currently the best placed Brazilian in the standings is Luiz Felipe de Azevedo Filho, with 56 points. Spaniard Eduardo Aznar leads with 97.
