Between 17 and 27 May the team led by Artur Jorge will play just one match. Time will be needed to improve the offensive style
With the postponement of the Brazilian championship matches, Botafogo is going through a period with few matches, but plenty of time to train and rest. Thus, coach Artur Jorge will try to improve his style, which has enchanted the fans. The commander, in fact, did not have the pre-season to carry out this activity.
Botafogo’s last match was against Universitario (PER), in the Libertadores. Now, Glorioso will face Vitória, away from home, in the third phase of the Copa do Brasil, on Wednesday (22). Subsequently the team led by Artur Jorge will again spend almost a week without matches, after all on the 28th they will visit Junior Barranquilla.
From the first weekend of June, Botafogo will return to the routine of midweek and weekend matches, and Artur Jorge will have less time to improve his attacking style, as he himself strengthened upon his arrival at the club. Indeed, the numbers don’t lie: Glorioso has scored in every match under his guidance and has the best attack in the Brasileirão, with 12 balls in the net in six matches.
“My goal right now is to make this Botafogo a dominant, courageous team, full of values that we believe they can identify and have their own identity. So that we can adapt and determine what our idea of the game is… In so that we can, very clearly, make the players adapt and believe in what is the idea of the entire technical staff, it would be very coherent if I said that my idea is to maintain what is being done here”, he commented Artur Jorge.
Therefore, Glorioso fans hope to see Artur Jorge improve his numbers for Botafogo. So far there have been seven wins, three defeats and a draw, which leaves Bota top of the Brasileirão and Libertadores, as well as very much alive in the Copa do Brasil.
