The documentary “Cazuza: Boas Novas”, currently in development, will feature an unreleased song by Cazuza, which he has never recorded.
The song is called “Dúvidas” and is part of the collection of rare records collected for the production, which will revisit the singer’s last two years, from diagnosis of AIDS to his death.
The feature film will focus on the human side and the urgency of creation that struck the artist when he learned of the disease.
Cazuza’s music producer, director Nilo Romero collected several little-seen images – from the singer spitting on the national flag during a concert in Rio de Janeiro to the performance at the wedding of musician George Israel – interspersed with the testimonies of those who lived with him in the its terminal phase.
Among those interviewed are Gilberto Gil, Leo Jaime, Frejat, Flavio Colker, Arthur Dapieve and Ney Matogrosso, as well as Lucinha Araújo, the singer’s mother.
The footage is made by production company 5e60 and will be screened on Canal Curta in early 2023.
