While it already offers the Hunger Games movies, Amazon’s platform today welcomed another dystopian teen saga: Divergent.
Twilight, The Hunger Games, Labyrinth, Percy Jackson, Divergent… The 2010s saw the flourishing of many film adaptations of literary sagas aimed at teenagers, all with varying degrees of success.
If the first two mentioned thus became a real phenomenon, others, such as Number Four or Mortal Instruments, did not even surpass the first episode. And in the middle we find Divergent, whose three opus are available on Prime Video starting today.

If the adventure started well enough by offering the public a new original post-apocalyptic world in which individuals are divided into five factions based on whether they are more courageous, intelligent, sincere, kind or generous, it ended with blood sausage juice.
Indeed, after adapting the first two novels – Divergent and Divergent 2: The Insurrection – the production made the choice to split Veronica Roth’s third book into two parts, as many did at the time. Unfortunately, Divergent 3: Beyond the Wall did not achieve the expected success at the box office, and the end of the saga, therefore, never saw the light of day.
There was talk of a fourth feature film being turned into a TV movie to kick off the series in the Divergent universe, but none of the saga’s actors were interested and the project was shelved, leaving fans unhappy.
Revelations and big names
Despite everything, the Divergent trilogy will make it possible to introduce to the general public Shailene Woodley, who portrays the heroine Beatrice, who does not belong to any category and therefore is different, which the government tries to eliminate.
Also Miles Teller (currently starring in Top Gun 2) and Ansel Elgort (recently seen in West Side Story), whom Woodley found in other projects (The Spectacular Now, The Fault in Our Stars), or even Theo James (now star). from the Time Traveler’s Wife series).
