New Beetlejuice 2 Trailer: The Mad Ghost Will Take Revenge On Lydia Through Her Daughter

Tim Burton released ‘Beetlejuice’ 36 years ago, a horror-comedy film that continues to be remembered by millions of viewers. Now, in 2024, he will bring back this character in a feature film with new characters and also some that we met in the first part.

“Beetlejuice 2” trailer shows new images of the sequel

It was May 23rd when the new trailer for ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’, the much-anticipated sequel to the beloved character, was released online. The trailer opens with Lydia Deetz speaking directly to the audience as she presses a button on a remote to play the movie on an old TV.

“Here’s a preview. Be careful. It’s intense,” says the character.

How will the return of Beetlejuice’s ghost affect Lydia and Astrid?

Inside, it is confirmed that the Deetz clan is returning to their home in Winter River after the sudden death of Charles Deetz. While exploring the house, Astrid, Lydia’s daughter, ends up discovering a portal to the afterlife hidden in the basement and summons the spirit Beetlejuice after repeating his name three times, inviting it to wreak havoc once more.

The film’s official synopsis revealed that Astrid will be involved in a problem with Beetlejuice, for which her mother is forced to make a “bad” deal with the ghost in order to save her.

The images in the trailer give the impression that Astrid will be kidnapped by Beetlejuice and taken to the underworld to possibly marry her since he was previously unable to marry Lydia. As such, he will do everything possible to bring it into the real world, preventing the spirit from achieving its goals.

A theory created by netizens after the progress is that Astrid could be dead, due to the disturbed look she shows for a few seconds. What could support this belief is the way both Lydia and Astrid escape the sandworm.

The cast includes Winona Ryder as Lydia, Michael Keaton as Beetlejuice and Catherine O’Hara as Delia, actors returning to play their old characters in the first film. On the other hand, those joining next are Jenna Ortega as Astrid, Monica Bellucci as Delores, Willem Dafoe as Wolf Jackson and Justin Theroux as Rory, among others.

When is ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’ coming out?

Tim Burton, the director who made the first episode, was responsible for the continuation of this story that was planned decades ago, but which was only now able to come to light. ‘Beetlejuice’ is scheduled to hit the big screen on September 6, 2024, which is less than four months away.
