‘Stranger Things’: The Duffers share details of the improvised moments of the season 4 finale

Which parts were left up to the cast?

The series ‘Stranger Things’ premiered the last two episodes of season 4 on Friday, July 1, with tons of heartbreaking moments (normal lasting as long as the episodes last), emotions and chills galore, even if one of the deaths that we feel we saw it coming.

Amid the social media buzz, the official ‘Stranger Things’ writers’ room Twitter account confirmed on Saturday, July 2, that the cast had improvised some moments.

“‘Erica Help’ was improvised by Caleb (McLaughlin),” read one tweet, while another revealed that “‘Love You Man’ was improvised by Joe (Quinn).”

Both of those lines, especially the ‘I love you, man’, were quite moving, but we know you want to know more than just two bits of dialogue from the entire series. How about that kiss between Joyce and Hopper, which Winona Ryder and David Harbor completely improvised on the day of the shoot?

One thing to note is that – with a preview of Murray, Dmitri and Yuri on the outside – the final episode begins with a sex scene between them, something that is quite rare in the series, but the kiss added some tenderness. and humanity, which we don’t think you can get enough of.

While the denouement of season 4 has been huge, and everyone has been raving about it on social media, Digital Spy magazine argues that it has actually dropped the ball compared to the first part of the season. Why? Because it’s too damn long (remember that the last chapter is almost two and a half hours).

“With four episodes split into two, we hoped that the story would continue along the lines in which it had started, that is, building on the material they had already prepared,” we wrote.

“However, it felt more like the story ran out and someone just forgot to stop shooting. To quote The Lord of the Rings, if we may, it was like ‘butter spread on too much bread.'”

The second part of the fourth season of Stranger Things is now available on Netflix.
