The Paverama, Fontoura Xavier and Victor Graeff squares return to operating at a fixed rate, while Montenegro remains exempt
Three of the four toll booths along BR-386 will resume toll collection starting at midnight this Friday (24th). The squares of Paverama, Fontoura Xavier and Victor Graeff will again operate for a fee, with the exception of trucks carrying donations for the victims of the Rio Grande do Sul floods, accompanied by official vehicles, which will continue to be exempt.
The decision to exempt tolls for vehicles carrying humanitarian aid was authorized by the National Agency for Land Transport (ANTT). However, the Montenegro motorway toll booth, located at km 425, will remain exempt from the toll. The region was hit by floods, which caused damage to the motorway and the charging structure.
CCR ViaSul, the concessionaire responsible for the motorway, continues repair work in the flood-hit region. The resumption of toll collection is aimed at guaranteeing the continuity of the services provided and supporting the restoration actions of the affected motorways. The charge had been suspended since May 5th and was resumed after the partial restoration of the conditions of the motorway.
CCR ViaSul’s forecast is to completely free traffic between the dry bridge and the bridge over the Taquari river (from km 349 to km 350) by Tuesday (28), in both directions of BR-386. Meanwhile, occasional blockages may occur when services need to be performed, especially during off-peak hours, such as weekends and at night.
