TikTok’s viral trend sees Minions fans watching the movie in costume, and Universal responded

Young people flock to the cinema for a 2022 new version of the film in a rather strange way. It’s been more than a decade since the original release of my favorite villainGen Z members, who were the original targets of the franchise, are enjoying the new origins film, Minions: The Rise of Gru, in full costume as part of a viral TikTok trend. And while Universal responded, some cinemas aren’t happy.

The you serve The franchise has gone through its Generation Z childhood years well, with many young people in that age group showing up with style to watch. Minions: The Rise of Gru. In a viral challenge on TikTok, large groups of friends are flocking to theaters in full costume to see the film, and it’s a sight to behold. watch a TIC Tac where you can see dozens of young people gathered to watch them film:

Honestly, this looks like I imagine it would be a cult gathering if it happened after the prom. However, Universal seems to like the look, as they responded with a “job well done” through theirs Twitter account. Here is the sweet thank you message from him:

There is a very good reason Universal is thrilled with this exciting development. Minions: The Rise of Gru kills him at the box office and although the film is aimed at children (and also, curiously, fans of Office ), even kills former children.

As happy as the studio is, some theater directors are obviously less enthusiastic about the thematic showcase. A TikToker who participated in the trend was kicked out of the cinema after the police were called. Check out the video below, where costumed people can be seen walking past a theater:

They weren’t the only group of participating viewers to be kicked out of the film, as another TikTok shows a large group of costumed theater patrons hunted by a theater director. Look:

I find it hard to believe that a bunch of people who can pull out a single line of files like this could get so rebellious, but the TikToker had the phone recording a movie, so who knows! However, it’s safe to say that some theater directors are fully aware of the trend, with one even posting a warning that they won’t admit anyone in “formal dress” to movie screenings.
