Jay Hernandez has a sweet message for fans after previous Magnum PI cancellation received a surprise order for season 5

While things have been tough on the television front in terms of cancellations at the end of the 2022 season, magnum ip became a series to receive good news. After the CBS series was phased out in May, NBC recently announced a two-season reboot, delighting cast members and fans around the world. Star Jay Hernandez, who plays the title character, has now shared a sweet message with fans following the news.

Jay Hernandez directed Twitter the 4th of July weekend, not to celebrate America’s birthday, but to celebrate magnum ip renewal. He responded to a video NBC shared about him and thanked fans for their hard work, which included a “Save Magnum PI” billboard, to get the show back on track. He had the same feelings in his tweet as he did and said he was grateful and grateful to start the tour again soon:

Seeing how excited Jay Hernandez is about the retirement and the fact that it was for the fans should make the looming wait for the renewal worth it. It’s been a long month and a half since CBS announced the cancellation, but Hernandez has also revealed he’s ready to dive straight into Season 5.

magnum ip it was originally canceled in May, shortly after the season four finale, with the CBS boss citing multiple “factors” as a cause. It was a surprise, like many cancellations this season, which meant the show didn’t have a proper ending. Shortly thereafter, it was reported that the show’s studio, Universal TV, was buying the series from other networks in hopes that they would pick it up. Things looked promising at a time when talks seemed open with USA Network or NBC, but it took a long time for a deal to materialize.

However, it’s not surprising that the show was picked up by another network, given its persistent fans. The fan base was quick to jump on the drama after the cancellation, creating hashtags and petitions to convey the message that needs to be saved. Again, there was even a billboard in Times Square that caught the attention of some stars.

Fortunately, the good news came soon after. In the last hours of June 30, just before the expiration of the distribution options, NBC decided to keep magnum ip for 20 episodes, dividing it into two seasons. It was a heartbreaking wait, but it finally happened and there should be only good news on that front from here on out.
