In the United States, Licorice Pizza was nominated for an Academy Award, a BAFTA (where it won Best Original Screenplay), and a Golden Globe before landing on the American Film Institute’s annual list of favorite films. When it was released in French cinemas in January 2022, it was particularly well received by the press, earning an average of 4.5 out of 5 on AlloCiné (for 30 reviews).
