No one can deny the success that “Elite” had, at least in its first few seasons, on Netflix. Although the Spanish series has already ended, a Korean production looks set to take over and bring the student and social drama back to audiences. This is “Hierarchy”.
What is “Hierarchy”? Korean Netflix series compares to ‘Elite’
The Korean series takes place at Jusin High School, a school whose students are chosen from the richest and most powerful families in the country and where the top 0.01% rule and impose their law on the rest of the students. Juxin is not just a school, it is a microcosm where wealth, power and influence are everything.
However, the arrival of a shy student opens a rift in the unbreakable world. Kang Ha is a scholarship student, coming from a humble background, who must navigate this social maze full of hierarchies, where the most privileged students. What few suspect is that the secret that Ha’s guardians will turn many lives upside down.
The similarities between ‘HierarquÃa’ and the hit Spanish series ‘Elite’ have gone unnoticed by few. The main point of comparison is that both series are set in an expensive school where the students are young people who belong to the richest families in the country, however everything changes when a boy from an underprivileged family enrolls in the school and the rejection of the rest does not it is slow to be noticed.
At the moment, it is not clear whether the plot of “Hierarchy” will have a criminal beginning like that of the first seasons of “Elite”, although the Korean production promises to differentiate itself with its own identity and approach.
When does Hierarchy premiere on Netflix?
The ‘k-drama’ is set to hit Netflix on June 7, 2024. Until then we’ll find out if the story is as similar to ‘Elite’ as advertised.

Roh Jeong-eui as Jung Jae-yi, the eldest daughter of the Jaeyool Group, rival of the Jooshin Group, and queen of Jusin High School.
The k-drama ‘Hierarchy’ was created by Bae Hyeon-jin and Chu Hye-mi.
