USP falls to 2nd place in Latin America in university rankings; see list


The most consulted schools in the world were evaluated, as well as their performance in terms of employability and sustainability

A University of Sao Paulo (USP) It stopped being the best in Latin America and moved to second place in the 2025 edition of the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) ranking, a global specialist in higher education. OR QS World University Rankings evaluates the world’s most consulted educational institutions, employability and sustainability performance of universities.

A USP it was overtaken by the University of Buenos Aires (UBA), Argentina, which it had beaten in last year’s edition.

However, USP is among the top 100 in the world in four of the nine QS metrics:

  • Academic reputation;
  • Employer reputation;
  • Employment outcomes;
  • Sustainability.
