Did you like a post on Threads? Drag to the right
The news came to light after a the experiment began in March. At the time, the executive announced tests of the feature that borrows one of Tinder’s most famous gestures: swiping left or right to like or dislike content.
In Threads, the interaction happens on the timeline and follows a similar purpose. When you swipe the post right, the app likes the post. But if you drag it to the right you declare that you are not interested in that content.
Likes will drive the algorithm’s suggestions
“In an effort to give people more control over their Threads experience, we’re launching the option to swipe right on a post to like it or swipe left to show you’re not interested,” Mosseri announced.
According to the manager, these signals will serve to show more publications similar to the one that was liked. Likewise, the mechanism will reduce the incidence of posts that follow the same line as the content dragged to the left. “I hope this helps you find more posts that interest you,” the executive concluded.

Despite its debut, the feature is not yet available to everyone, as observed in tests carried out by Canaltech this Tuesday (4). The expectation is that the gesture will be made known to more people in the coming days.
