The film “The Tear Maker” is a film adaptation of the book of the same name, written by Erin Doom. Nica (Caterina Ferioli) was still a child when she arrived at the orphanage, where she spent the rest of her childhood and early adolescence. She an orphan, the only comfort she could count on to get through her days were her fairy tales: the fairy tales took her from the sad environment in which she found herself to a playful world.
Among the stories he loved most was that of the Creator of Tears: a being who produced crystal tears, but who made other people enter into heartbreaking love. She wanted to have the experience and for a long time she thought it wouldn’t happen. Until now.
Rigel Wilde (Simone Baldasseroni or simply “Biondo”) has always been a mysterious orphan with a solitary and antisocial behavior. He was so strange that for years he refused to be adopted by families interested in welcoming him. But everything changes when he and Nica are adopted by the same family.
The boy is always frowning and determined to keep a safe distance from Nica, but when they both start school life in a new school and the girl meets Lionel (Alessandro Bedetti), his jealousy becomes stronger.
Now, Rigel must control his attraction to Nica so as not to destroy the family they are both part of. However, he doesn’t want Lionel near the girl either, as he is clearly interested in her too. What should he do then?
The book was published in Brazil by Harper Collins in 2023. The film was adapted by Netflix and debuted in April 2024. There are other names in the cast, such as Dana Melanie, Eco Andriolo, Roberta Rovelli, Sabrina Paravicini, Juju Di Domenico, Orlando Cinque, Nicky Passarella and others.
