In this friendly match in Texas, the attacker entered the second half and, in the 51st minute of the final phase, scored the winning goal in a 3-2 victory over the Mexicans
Brazil, who started with the reserve team, beat Mexico on Saturday evening (8/6), 3-2, thanks to the brilliant Endrick. The friendly match at the Kyle Stadium, in Texas, was the first of two that the Seleção will play before the Copa América (the other will be on the 12th, against the USA). Andreas Pereira and Martinelli scored for Brazil, but the Mexicans tried to equalize with Yan Couto, against, and Guillermo Martínez, this time in the 47th minute of the final phase. However, in the 51st minute, Endrick, who had entered with 16 in the final phase, saved a cross from Vini Jr (another who entered in the final stretch) to make the score 3-2.
Endrick thus reaches his third goal in three games. He did it in the victory against England, in the draw with Spain and against the Mexicans. And Dorival Jr remains unbeaten: two wins and a draw.
Andreas’ great goal
After just 20 seconds, Andreas Pereira made a great move on the left and crossed for Martinelli, who arrived a millimeter late. It was a safe target. But, between high scoring and the search for space, the Canary Islands scored in the 4th minute. Savinho makes an excellent individual play on the right and passes the ball to Andreas Pareira on the edge of the area. The former Flamengo and current Fulham star, with two touches, left two markers on the ground and hit Julio González with no escape.
Brazil continues very well in the first 20 minutes, with Savinho making good moves and Andreas almost as a striker. But he started to miss passes when passing the ball (Mexico also started to score high). Thus, he offered two scoring opportunities to his rivals, missing passes. But Mexico did not take advantage of it. In fact, Alisson had difficulty with just one shot from outside the area, from Arteaga. The archer defended himself well.
Brazil extends, but Mexico equalizes
The second half opens with five boring minutes from Brazil. But in the first attack he launched, aged eight, Militão conceded a long pass to Yan Couto. The full-back makes a great gesture on the right and crosses for Martinelli who extends. But Brazil started to have difficulty creating offensive actions, because Savinho and Andreas got tired and started to show little. But the arrival of Endrick, at 16, gave the Canarinhos more movement. However, Brazil continued to miss passes in defense (Alisson was very unsure with his feet). Mexico gets excited and, in the 27th minute, scores the goal, on a cross from Vega that Yan Couto tries to cut and scores against.
The introduction of Vini Jr meant that Brazil regained control of the action and had at least two opportunities to expand (both with Endrick). In the final minutes the Seleção were apathetic and ended up being punished. In a corner, the ball fell to Guillermo Martinez, who came on in the 44th minute, headed towards Alisson’s defense and took the ball to leave the score at 2-2.
Endrick in them, what a star!
Everything suggested that the match would end in a draw. But in the 51st minute Vini Jr takes it from the left and crosses to Endrick’s head and…. Brazil 3 to 2. This guy really has a star!
It was bad
The bad thing was the homophobic shouting of the Mexican fans against goalkeeper Alisson. This meant that the match was stopped at 1pm in the second half to put an end to the embarrassment of the Mexican fans. In the end there was also an invasion of the pitch by some fans during the duel, in the 40th minute of the final phase.
Next friendly match
Now Brazil returns to the field on the 12th, when they will face the United States in the second pre-Copa América friendly. This game will be in Orlando.
