Since becoming public domain, ‘Steamboat Willie’ has gained new versions, including horror versions

Following United States legislation, the first version of Mickey Mouse became public domain after 95 years since its original publication. As a result, the Disney character that appears in Steamboat Willie (1928) can be copied by anyone.
