The coach arrives at Juventus after a historic season at Bologna
After a long period of negotiations, Juventus announced on Wednesday (12) the arrival of Italian-Brazilian coach Thiago Motta, who distinguished himself at the helm of Bologna in Serie A last season.
The former Italian midfielder, who surprisingly qualified the rossoblù for the next Champions League, has signed an agreement valid until the end of June 2027.
“I am very happy to begin a new experience at the helm of a great club like Juventus. I thank the owners and the management, to whom I assure them of all my ambition to keep Juventus growing and make the fans happy”, declared the coach , who will pocket around 3.5 million euros per season.
Motta will have to face the complex challenge of getting Juventus back on track after difficult years for Torino led by Massimiliano Allegri, sacked from his position less than 48 hours after beating Atalanta in the Italian Cup final.
The Italian-Brazilian’s aim is to give the club a new identity with a faster and more fluid attacking system, as well as offering greater intensity to the youthful style of play.
The 41-year-old coach did not renew his contract with Bologna, despite several attempts by the Emilian management, and decided to take a bigger step in his career by embracing the Juventus project. .
