Joia do Palmeiras has signed for five seasons with the Hammers and will be another to leave Verdão in the second half of the year
West Ham officially announced this Thursday (13th) the signing of attacking midfielder Luis Guilherme. The Brazilian signed with the English club for five seasons. The Brazilian will officially be a Hammers player from this Friday (14th), when the transfer window opens in England.
The deal was closed at 30 million euros (170 million R$). Of this amount, 23 million euros (approximately 131 million) are fixed and another 7 million euros (R$ 39 million) are bonuses, which vary depending on the sporting objectives established in the contract. Palmeiras will still be entitled to 20% of the proceeds from the English club from a possible future sale.
“I am very happy to sign with West Ham, a club that believed in my work. The Premier League is the best league in the world and I believe that I will improve a lot here. Every time I had the opportunity, I grew up watching the English football and I can play here is an incredible feeling. It’s been a dream since I was 11 and now it’s coming true,” said Luis Guilherme.
One of the flagships of Verdão in recent years, Luis Guilherme will not have an official farewell to Palmeiras. This is because he was with the Under 20 team for training and, upon his return, he went to London to undergo a medical at West Ham.

Projected into Palmeiras’ main team in 2023, the boy found space with Abel Ferreira and proved to be important in the fight for the title of the last Brasileirão. This season the player has demonstrated his evolution with good matches. However, the highlight came against Independiente Del Valle-EQU. On that occasion he hits a beautiful shot from outside the area and gives Palmeiras the victory.
Indeed, since his promotion to the professional team, Luis Guilherme has participated in 45 matches, scored one goal and provided one assist. Furthermore, the boy won the Brasileirão 2023 and Paulistão 2024 titles.
