The PlayStation horror game is getting a movie and the first names of the cast have been revealed that have nothing to do with the actors protagonists of the game
The film that will take Until dawn for the cinema the cast has been revealed. And although the Horror game for PlayStation 4 brings very famous names from Hollywood, the film adaptation has opted for new faces to experience this great homage to classic slashers.
PlayStation Productions and Screen Gems have confirmed Ella Rubin (An idea of you), Michele Cimino (I never…), Ji-young Yoo (Expats) and Odessa A’zion (Hellraiser: Reborn from Hell) will star in the film in roles not yet confirmed. The direction is entrusted to David F. Sandberg, responsible Shazam! The fury of the Gods AND Annabella 2.
Announced in early 2024, the film Until dawn promises to recreate the horror atmosphere presented by the 2015 game. The curious thing is that the game is already a kind of replica and parody of films of the genre, especially slashers from the 80s and 90s. Precisely for this reason the plot revolves around a group of young people looking for sex and sluts who need to survive the attacks of a murderer until the dawn of the day.
Despite the seemingly simple plot, PlayStation Productions and Screen Gems are keeping the premise of the adaptation a secret, without providing much detail on how this story will be brought to the screen. The screenplay is supervised by Gary Dauberman, who has other horror hits to his credit, including It: The Thing AND The nun.
A curious detail of the casting announcement is the fact that Until dawn was already quite cinematic in video games, bringing in names like Rami Malek (Bohemian Rhapsody), Brett Dalton (Agents of SHIELD.) and Hayden Panettiere (Nashville) among the main characters.
The film of Until dawn its date has not been announced. Additionally, a remake has been confirmed for the game PlayStation 5 and PC expected in 2024.
