Monte Carlo TV Festival 2024: Morgan Freeman takes the spotlight with his French voice, NCIS and Little House on the Prairie…

Last Friday, June 14, many French and American stars gathered to kick off the 63rd edition of the Monte Carlo Television Festival with a bang. An unmissable event for fans of the series, who, as every year, met their favorite celebrities.

The blue carpet of this year’s festival was met by prestigious actors and actresses, starting with Morgan Freeman. The 87-year-old actor was on his way to the palace to receive the crystal nymph that honors all his works. But also to present the world premiere of House of Grey, the series he is producing with Kevin Costner and about which we have the first information here.

A summit meeting between two voices

After receiving a statue from Prince Albert II of Monaco at the opening ceremony, Morgan Freeman was joined on stage for his acceptance speech by BenoƮt Aleman, his French voice. An exciting encounter for the dubbing actor, who never crossed paths with the man he lent his voice to for years.

And what a pleasant surprise it was for the audience to see and hear Morgan Freeman live at VF. A moment of suspense rich in emotion that allowed the festivities to begin as they should.

NCIS, the 1000th!

This 63rd edition of the Monte Carlo Television Festival highlights the detective series NCIS, which we no longer present. The one that was renewed for a 22nd season topped 1,000 episodes in the first place. An exemplary longevity to be celebrated with the fans.

In this case, four actors traveled to the beach of Monaco: Wilmer Valderrama (Nicky), Brian Dietzen (Jimmy), Michael Weatherly (Tony) and Cote de Pablo (Ziva). The latter especially came to talk about their upcoming spin-off, which will take place in Europe.

50 years of the flagship series

We went back a few years to the blue carpet of the Monte Carlo Television Festival and traveled to Walnut Grove. While several of the cast members from Little House on the Prairie are regulars at this prestigious event, this is the first time all of the cast have been in Europe to celebrate the 50th anniversary… much to the delight of fans who sang their hearts out. The names of Alison Arngrim (Nellie Oleson), Karen Grassley (Carolyn Ingalls) and her incomparable smile, Matthew Laborto (Albert Ingalls) or even Melissa Sue Anderson (Marie).

The next day, fans of the series met the entire cast for a moment, between laughter and emotions. And anyone passing through the forum where the event was held at the time could expect fans to sing Little House on the Prairie…
