The 38th edition of the Cabourg Film Festival, Romantic Days, took place from 12 to 16 June 2024.
If the sun shone a little less for this new edition, the numerous audiences (many screenings were sold out) could once again discover a rich selection of films, short and long, as always, with a program that emphasizes French and international. Creativity from all horizons, around the theme of romanticism and great feelings.

Among the eclectic list of winners, a special mention should be made of the Grand Jury Prize, which was awarded to a co-producer from Iran, Sweden, France and Germany whose name whets the appetite: My Favorite Cake by Maryam Moghadam and Behtash Sanaeeha.
Pitch: Mahini is 70 years old and lives alone. One day, she decides to break out of her routine and rebuild her love life. Then the unexpected meeting turns into an unforgettable evening… The release date of this film, which will be distributed by Arizona Distribution, is not yet known.
Panache for the community!
In the Panorama section, the audience prize goes to Jennifer Devolder’s new work Le Panache, Aure Atika, José Garcia and Joachim Arseguel. It will be released on November 20. The film tells the story of Colin, a young genius. He is entering a new college. However, it is not easy to transition from the world of childhood to the world of adults, especially when you are “different”. The road is strewn with dead ends. But a crucial meeting with his theater teacher, a caring father figure, guides his steps towards a new development as a new birth.
In the Panorama section, we highlight 2 feature films that were not awarded, but followed their respective theatrical releases. The highly acclaimed Roman de Gimme by the Larriet brothers, which was noticed by critics during the recent Cannes Film Festival, especially for the performances of Karim Leclus and Letizia Dosh (released on August 14, 2024). and Claire Burger’s 3rd feature, Foreign Language. This film about Franco-German friendship finds a special resonance at this moment. It portrays the youth of two countries, two families, and indeed their concerns at the political level amid the rise of populism seen from the two countries (released on September 11, 2024).
