The men’s and women’s volleyball teams play at the same time this week for the VNL
In 6th place in the rankings, the men’s team plays the third week of the Nations League (VNL) and has some tough opponents ahead of it in the search for a place in the G-8 of the final phase. Bernardinho Rezende’s men made their debut last Tuesday (18th) against the Netherlands and will then face the United States, Canada and France.
However, France is the only team ahead of Brazil in the table. The French are in 4th place, with 6 wins and 17 points. Just below Brazil, Canada is in 7th place, with 4 wins and 13 points, while the United States and the Netherlands are outside the qualifying zone for the final round, in 12th and 13th place respectively.
The women’s team, in turn, concluded the qualifying phase this Sunday (16) with a resounding victory over Turkey and with a success rate in the competition of 100%. The final phase will be played between this Thursday (20th) and Sunday (23rd), in Bangkok, Thailand. On Thursday 20th, Zé Roberto Guimarães’ men will duel against Thailand, at 10:30, Brasilia-DF time, for a place in the semi-finals.
