Once: Freshly graduated, Riley is now a teenager, not to mention a major upheaval at headquarters, who must face something unexpected: the arrival of new emotions! Joy, sadness, anger, fear and disgust – which have worked successfully for a long time – do not really know how to behave when anxiety comes. And it seems he’s not the only one…
In French Voices: In terms of vocal casting, Adele Exarchopoulos voices Ennui in the French version and the original version, Pierre Nin voices Pie, Charlotte Le Bon again as Joy, Gilles Lelouch once again voices Kohler, Marilou Berry. There’s Tristes and Mélanie Laurent always double the disgust, while Dorothe Pousseau voices the angst, Casey Chase is the envy, and Maxime Horault doubles the awkwardness.
What they love: Nine years after Pete Docter’s Vice Versa, Riley and her emotions are back for an all-new adventure. Now a teenager, a young girl will now have to deal with new emotions: boredom, embarrassment, envy, nostalgia starting to rear its ugly head and terrible anxiety…
In this sequel directed by Kelsey Mann, “old” emotions will have to give way to new ones. If the latter thinks for a while that they can replace the old, all the emotions will eventually realize that they need to co-exist in order to create the right balance for Riley.
In the narrative arc of the first opus, Joy examines Riley’s head to find something important to a little girl: self-esteem. This time, the Queen of Emotions is accompanied on her journey not only by sadness, but by all of Riley’s basic emotions. Thus, anxiety, boredom, embarrassment and envy remain at HQ… resulting in happy chaos and scenes that will make the children/adults blush with embarrassment and bring back memories, always grand, of the elders…
A great adventure into the heart of Riley’s brain, who experiences a trying weekend… In line with the first film, Vice-Versa 2 is more mature and allows us to understand that behind the gaze of others is how we look. Self is the most important thing.
What could be bothering them? : True to her name, the character of Anxiety has a rather unique appearance, with orange, bulging eyes and messy hair. A design that perfectly fits the idea of this emotion.

However, certain sequences where emotion takes precedence over others and decides to manipulate Riley’s brain in order to integrate a group of successful hockey players may disturb the little ones. The latter may be disturbed by the idea that emotions lead to wrong decisions.
But this sequence will also allow young viewers to better understand what can be going on in their heads sometimes, and that we shouldn’t let anxiety take precedence over other emotions.
which they will hold deeply : A wonderful illustration of a favorite book by parents of young children: “The color of emotions. A fun, colorful and moving film that lets viewers understand what’s going on in their heads and helps them manage their emotions better.
Different emotions are difficult for children to understand. On the contrary It allowed young viewers to imagine what is going on in their heads and try to understand what emotion is being talked about. A number of new emotions emerge during adolescence and are often responsible for the so-called ‘teen crisis’. Vice-Versa 2 is a kind of emotion dictionary that helps teenagers better understand what they’re going through.

But apart from the emotions, the film Kelsey Mann Talks about self-esteem and the image we have of ourselves based on the decisions we make. “I am a good friend“,”I made the right decision“,”I am a good person“…everything that we think deeply, during adolescence all these certainties are broken and everything is questioned.
Thanks to Joy and her first emotions, Riley regains the self-esteem necessary for her construction and evolution. But above all, the audience will understand that we cannot keep silent about what we feel…
It is necessary to accept each of our emotions and let them express themselves. All emotions are necessary and normal: sometimes envy, embarrassment, anger, fear or anxiety are natural. We cannot be happy all the time. Joey will understand this and teenagers will learn to manage their emotions better thanks to this movie. Children will learn to recognize and understand emotions better, and adults will remember that self-esteem is essential and that it is important to know how to take time to process emotions.
A funny, powerful and exciting movie to watch with your family this Wednesday, June 19.
