Red Bull is betting on the return of Sergio Perez from Barcelona so that he can once again contribute to the points for the constructors’ championship, as he did earlier in the year when he and Max achieved three doubles for Red Bull.

Christian Horner seems worried about the evolution of his rivals in addition to Pérez’s decline in performance in recent races, and was relieved by Ferrari’s poor performance in Canada.

“Thank God Ferrari were also a disaster, so they didn’t score. But we need both cars to score points. We will need the Checo we saw at the beginning of the year, already from Barcelona,” Horner said.

The Red Bull team boss acknowledged that Perez has problems adapting to the tougher track conditions. “He suffers when the car doesn’t perform well. It takes longer to adapt and the lack of training on Friday (due to rain in free practice 1) put him at a disadvantage. We will analyze it together so that he can react in Barcelona,” he said.

Helmut Marko, known for not holding his tongue, once again hit Sergio Perez, but in a subtle and cunning way. In an interview with Le Journal, the Red Bull Racing consultant said that the McLaren duo Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri are the best on the current Formula 1 grid.
