To that end, one of the show’s writers released some details on the upcoming season’s premiere, revealing that a recurring favorite will be returning for kick-off.
Siobhan Byrne O’Connor, who was part of the Blue blood writing and production team since the first season, has led to instagram to share the title page of the season 13 premiere and kindly shed some light on what to expect by answering a few questions from fans in the comments. As seen in the image, which also contains part of the privacy policy, the season 13 premiere was written by Siobhan Byrne O’Connor and showrunner Kevin Wade, with TV director Alex Zakrzewski at the helm. . This will mark Zakrzewski’s 18th episode behind the camera for Blue bloodwhile also working on episodes of each of the FBI past dramatic seasons.
As for the title “Keeping the Faith”, it’s obviously not entirely clear what it will mean in terms of how things develop in the episode’s narrative. But as O’Connor explained when a fan thanked him for releasing the title, it’s a reflection of the fan base. In his words:
It’s a nod to our audience who have been doing just that for over 12 seasons.
This is a really good Siobhan Byrne O’Connor sentiment, and while there are probably plenty of people in Hollywood who would say something like this without much authenticity behind it, the Blue blood the writer / producer knows this how important the role longtime viewers have played in keeping the show going for more than a dozen years. Even if the numbers weren’t enough to convince CBS executives to order a renewal for a new season, fans would go nuts if the network even hinted at canceling it.
There’s no need to talk about such bad results, as O’Connor revealed a familiar face fans will see in the Season 13 premiere. When a fan asked to see more of Bridget Moynahan’s Erin and Jack Boyle’s Peter Herman , the Blue blood the writer said:
Jack will be in this episode.
While not everyone in the Reagan family gets as excited as the fans every time Peter Hermann passes by, it’s still a great time for those who watch. Although he doesn’t appear at all in season 12, Jack’s last appearance took place in season 11’s “Happy Endings” when he was asked to take on a defendant’s case that Erin continued. We don’t know what to expect, but let’s hope there are some fun complications in store and that he has a place inside the much revered dining table this evening.
Elsewhere, Siobhan Byrne O’Connor also shared that Will Hochman’s Joe Hill will also be part of the episode, having appeared in four episodes of season 12, including the finale.
