What do Sex and the City, Melrose Place and Emily in Paris have in common? Man, Darren Starr. A prolific screenwriter and small screen producer, this American is behind many hits featuring colorful and unusual characters that we either love or hate.

In 2015, Darren Starr returned to the spotlight with Younger, a TV series adapted from Pamela Redmond Satran’s novel of the same name. We find all the ingredients he likes: a refreshing heroine, an important topic in our society (about ageism), a little comedy, a touch. strange…

The film follows a new single mother from New Jersey who decides to lie about her age to give herself a better chance of getting a job. With a little luck and make-up, she manages to look twenty years younger…

Glamorous casting

It didn’t take long for the star to find someone to play his main character. His choice fell on Sutton Foster, a well-known musical actor and singer in the United States:

“When I met him, I was very surprised that he was actually 40 years old. It was important for me to find an actor who was not 35 years old, but the actual age of the character.

The rest of Junger’s cast isn’t left out: Those who grew up with the Disney Channel series Lizzie McGuire in the ’90s will be able to find actress Hilary Duffy on screen as Lizzie’s best friend (Foster). Nico Tortorella (Scream 4), Debbie Mazar (Entourage) and Miriam Shore (Sex and the City) round out this very glamorous cast.
