What is it about?
While a gang of robbers has been wreaking havoc in Paris for months and undermining the police, the Minister of the Interior wants new blood at the head of the investigation: Alia from Marseillaise, explosive and unruly, Hugo from Paris, dignified and meticulous. In short, they have everything to hate each other. A forced alliance, for better and for worse… and more if there are affinities?
This is not a “Marseille child”
Well, summer is here, and to celebrate, Prime Video has released its latest French production that smells like sunshine. It’s called Les Infallibles and it’s run by the duo Inés Reg and Kevin Debon.
This is not the first time that the platform relies on these few comedians, who have been collaborating for many years. Already in 2021, they headlined the romantic comedy I Want You, Me Neither.
A change of style for the two actors, who this time are embarking on an action film where the two supporting characters play the role of two polar cops. A genre in which we did not necessarily expect Ines Reggie, more accustomed to comedy than persecution.
Because that’s what awaits you in Les Infaillibles: between the two jokes that appear and discuss the Marseille/Paris rivalry and the clichéd music (the band is organized in the opening scene), the audience is treated to explosions, muscle exchanges and some stunts (which is a young woman ). He wanted to do it himself).
Directed by Frédéric Forestier (Asterix at the Olympics, Stars 80), Les Infallibles also stars Vincent Rotiers (So Far), Kevin Azais (Souvenir) and Julian Nasser (Son of Sammy Nasser) and Musa Maaskry (Furies).
Starting a new action franchise?
The author of the film is Kevin Debon himself, whose dream was to participate in a police comedy in the same style as Beverly Hills Cop. The latter also informed our colleagues that he already had ideas for a sequel if it was successful.
Will The Infallibles be the start of a successful franchise for Prime Video? For this we will have to follow the hearings very carefully.
But nothing is less certain. Indeed, the platform has been publishing French films for several months without much fanfare (like Cali with Sabrina Ouzan at the end of May).
The recent success of Sous la Seine on the side of its rival Netflix suggests that the SVOD giant has yet to find the perfect formula to appeal to its subscribers in the four corners of the world…
Maybe Les Infallible will succeed.
