Actors Jamie Campbell Bower, Vecna, and Joseph Quinn, Eddie, arrived in Sao Paulo this Wednesday (7/6) and have already attended a press conference to talk about the end of the fourth season of “Stranger Things”.
“It was all really great and I am very grateful for all of this. I can only say that I feel very happy,” said Joseph Quinn, smiling with happiness during the press conference, in which he thanked the audience for the success of his character. Eddie Munson – fan favorite addition to season 4. “I’d rather never hope, but the success definitely surpassed all of mine. Anyway, fans broke the internet when the series debuted,” he said.
According to the 29-year-old actor from London, his main focus in playing Eddie was to focus on two things: making him look young and not having his English accent. “I wanted him to seem as spontaneous as possible,” assured him.
As for the kindhearted metalhead’s youthful personality, Quinn confessed that it happened naturally. “I didn’t have to do much. He’s a bit caught up in what’s going on, so he needs to be more ‘childish’, ‘nice’, also because he wasn’t prepared to experience all of this,” she explained.
The Londoner also Bower, in turn, said he was not attached to the revelation of his true identity, one of the many surprises of the plot. “Really, I didn’t consider the surprise to the audience to be the main factor. But knowing fully, when everyone finds out who he is, of course, helped a lot to understand the trajectory,” he stressed.
“The way Matt and Ross write has a lot of truth, a lot of beauty,” added the 33-year-old actor creating his character with multiple identities.
Though Quinn doesn’t know if she will appear again in the series, due to Eddie’s ending, Bower has revealed himself in anticipation of what the next episodes await. “If you thought things were going badly this season, imagine next season: I’ll take them!”
The two are expected to stay in Brazil for a few more days to complete a promotional agenda. This Thursday (7/7), they attend a Meet & Greet-style fan meeting in Sao Paulo, in collaboration with the “Stranger Things Brasil” page. In addition, they are also recording chats with national celebrities and influencers.
Bower hopes they still have time to watch a football match, and the press office will likely take them to old Batman Alley, Vila Mariana, repeating “The Boys” and many more. But for the interpreter of Vecna it is worth it. It was worth it just for flying over the Amazon by plane. “That alone was impressive.”
