We are in the last moments of the Titanic. After more than three hours of breathtaking performances, a heart-wrenching love story and an equally epic and tragic end for the legendary liner, we return to 1996, on a different ship.
Titanic’s last moments
Now a hundred years old, Rose completes her account of a horrific shipwreck to a Keldich captain who is desperate for the Heart of the Ocean, a priceless diamond that a young woman carried aboard the Titanic. Out of sight, under the moonlight, he walks alone on the deck of the boat and pulls out of his pocket the jewel he has kept secret for over 80 years.
With a bit of a teasing laugh, he then drops the diamond to the ocean floor and gently lets it join the wreckage of the Titanic beneath his feet.
Then we see him lying in bed again, a smile on his lips, next to a lot of photos that testify to all the adventures he was able to experience during his long life, thanks to Jack’s sacrifice.
How should the ending be interpreted?
Her mind (or soul?) then wanders through the corridors of the Titanic (which is gradually regaining its former glory) and even under the great clock that marked the starting point of her first meeting with Jack. It seems that the young man, like all the missing ones, is waiting for his arrival.
Even better, the hands of the clock (as explained in the previous article) point to exactly 2:20 a.m., the official time when the Titanic sank beneath the waves. There, under the loud applause of the whole audience, two lovers kiss each other gently. the end of the movie.
But since it was released in theaters in 1997, the last Titanic script has raised many questions and theories that have yet to be officially answered, no doubt leaving the audience to choose which version they prefer.

dream or beyond?
Does Rose dream of this return in time, sleeping soundly after shedding the weight she still carried, metaphorically represented by the heart of the ocean? Did his story of Captain Lovett and his crew awaken in him countless memories that materialize mechanically in his sleep?
Or, on the contrary, he breathed his last and just reached the afterlife, where all the passengers of the Titanic died on the night of April 14, 1912? Upon death, she would reach an eternal place where time and death no longer have any influence, which is explained both by the clock’s hands stopping and by Rose regaining her 17-year-old appearance. .
In your opinion, how should the end of the Titanic be interpreted?
