On Thursday, June 27, in a more beautiful life, even more beautiful…
Patrick is afraid of getting old
At lunch, Patrick meets his wife Babette at Mistral. But the latter does not seem to be on his mind. Reason ? He is having trouble digesting his defeat in the inter-police shooting competition. He tells Babette that if he lost, it’s because he got old.
His wife asks him if he forgot about Rafael’s school trip, but he seems to. In fact, Patrick no longer remembered that he had to accompany his son and his classmates to the educational farm.
At the end of the day, Patrick and Rafael return from their little excursion to the farm. The father is exhausted by the constant nagging of his children. That’s not all, Raphael called him “Pope” all day long. As a result, all the school students and their companions gently mocked him. Could Patrick be having a midlife crisis?
Ophel makes a surprise visit
Blanche finally gets to mediate between Lucy and Michael. He asks them to talk, but none of them want to. In an attempt to break the silence, Blanche reveals to them that she also bullied a classmate when she was in college: “It made my friends laugh, I told myself it wasn’t out of malice.”
Intrigued by this revelation, Lucy asks Blanche what the woman is like today, and the latter honestly replies: “He hasn’t forgotten the story, and he still hates me.” Finally, the teenager speaks. He says he’s terrified at the thought of someone attacking him again.
Mikael shakes his head in annoyance and declares: “That’s why I don’t like sacrifice.” Blanche asks him to explain, so he confides that the victims are always people who have perfect lives, unlike him: “My father hasn’t done anything since my mother died, and Lucy makes excuses even though she has the life everyone dreams of.”
He turns to Lucy and says: “Life is not all pretty and rosy.” Angered by the boy’s words, he replies that his mother was killed when he was nine years old and that he knows best what it is to be unhappy. Mikael apologizes because he didn’t know the story.
Meanwhile, in the waiting room, Jean-Paul is talking to Anais, Michael’s older sister. He takes the opportunity to ask her how she feels after being kidnapped, and she replies that she has to fight Michael. Jean-Paul tells her that he was able to save her thanks to Ophel.
After this revelation, Anais goes to talk to Ophel Kepler. But the young woman doesn’t seem to want to talk to him. He said to him from the door: “You Ruined My Life”. Anais replies that she just wanted to say thank you, then leaves. Is Ophel ready to forgive him?
Jennifer is in a downward spiral
Gabriel shows Samuel Jennifer’s receipt, which is proof of the peanut butter purchase. Samuel does not believe for a second that his girlfriend tried to poison him. Gabriel asks him if he’s been emotionally traumatized in recent days, and Samuel replies that he may have been traumatized in his youth.
In turn, Babette informs Jennifer that her blood work is completely normal. The nurse advises her to rest for a week, but Jennifer replies that she is already in good shape. For her part, Babette is relieved that Pascal is not a psychopath.
A few minutes later, Pascal tells Jennifer that he has a feeling she’s been avoiding him since he slept over at her house. A young woman, caught in the act, confesses to him that she is disturbed by what happened. She tells him that at first she thought he was drugged.
While waiting for these words, Pascal seems hurt. He tells her: “You suspect me of being a bully, damage has been done, it’s serious”then adds: “I trusted you, I thought we could be friends, I’m disappointed.”
When Samuel returns home, he finds Jennifer sitting on the couch. She tells him that she is completely lost, especially since her blood test shows no trace of drugs. He does not understand what is happening to him. He asks his girlfriend what she thinks and he replies: “Maybe you’re burning.”
To distract themselves, Samuel suggests they go to the beach. Before leaving the apartment, he puts his service weapon in the safe, then waits outside for Jennifer. He leaves the room and makes sure to lock the door behind him.
Back at the office, Babette finds Leah and Gabriel talking. They look worried. And with good reason, they think Jennifer has a health problem. Leah said to her mother: “It’s not reassuring at all.” Could it be a psychological or neurological problem? Gabriel told his colleagues: “If this gets worse or continues, we won’t be able to keep Jennifer.”
Coming home from the beach, Samuel and Jennifer find their apartment ransacked. That’s not all, the robber also stole a service weapon. The policeman is angry. Will he think Jennifer forgot to lock the door?
