One of the biggest Hollywood animation franchises, Shrek should get the fifth film sooner than the public expects, according to Eddie Murphyoriginal voice of Dumbwhich even has a guess as to when the new entry should hit theaters.

It is worth remembering how the last feature in the saga, titled Shrek Forever After, was released on July 9, 2010 in Brazilian cinemas. As the actor explained in an interview with Colliderthe fifth film is expected to arrive approximately 15 years later.

“We started doing Shrek 4 or [Shrek] 5 months ago. I did it, I recorded the first act, and we’re going to do it this year, we’re going to finish it,” she revealed.Shrek is leaving and Dumb will have its own film. We will do [um solo do] Dumb also. So let’s make a Shrek it is a [filme] of Dumb.”

Right away, Murphy was asked if he recorded the voices for both films simultaneously. “No, not at the same time. I started recording ShrekI think it will be released in 2025, and then we will do a Dumb,” he responded.
