The young actress shares her experience filming ‘Stranger Things 4’ and the future of her character
Spoilers for ‘Stranger Things’ season 4 below.
Though Max (Sadie Sink) survived his encounter with Vecna Thanks to Eleven’s intervention, the Duffer brothers have confirmed on the ‘Happy Sad Confused’ podcast that the character is, after the end of part 2 of season 4 of ‘Stranger Things’, “brain dead, blind and with all the bones broken“.
The young actress has spoken with dead line on how his best season on ‘Stranger Things’ has been to date and how he sees his future on the Netflix series.
Sadie Sink sums up her time in the ‘Stranger Things’ timeline as follows: “When Max first came onto the scene in season two, [la pandilla] was something I desperately wanted to be a part of, because she felt a bit lost in this new city and this new school. She just wanted to find people of her own. She had to prove her place. The second season was kind of like this fight to get in there. We saw her relax in season three and we saw an even more confident side of her. She was a bit more light-hearted in season three until the end with Billy’s death, which is why she fell into a depressive spiral, which is where we find her in season four.. And then obviously in ‘Stranger Things 4’, there’s a lot of character development. All the pieces really fell into place in episode nine, for me, just with that monologue what’s wrong with it [con Lucas]. It says a lot about Max’s mindset throughout season four.”
Sadie addresses emotional final speech on Billy’s death, in which Max is honest about his thoughts towards his stepbrother and confesses that, sometimes, he wished for his death when praying at night. At that moment he attracts Vecna with her guilt and thus begins the final phase to try to kill the monster.
“When she opens up about it, it explains everything.. When you first meet her [al comienzo de la temporada]It’s interesting that she’s so distraught when Billy was so horrible to her. How could her death impact her to this extent? But when you dive into it, I think she was simply wracked with guilt and somehow felt responsible for what happened and he was taking all his anger and unresolved issues he had with his brother onto himself.”

The actress has also referred to ‘Running Up That Hill’, the Kate Bush song that ‘Stranger Things’ took to number 1 on the charts in various countries around the world.
“I definitely listened to the song a lot in preparation. I instantly loved it And I think it fits the vibe of the show.”
And finally, the million dollar question: What will happen to Max in season 5?
“[Los Duffer] They have been very secretive about the fifth season in general. We had a conversation. They called me before I read the ninth episode because in the script it literally says that Max dies . So they called me beforehand and said: ‘We just warned you, this is there, so you don’t get surprised.’ I have no idea what’s coming in season five. Max’s story is very up in the air, because he’s obviously in a coma and Eleven can’t find her in the void. So, who knows where it is and what state it is in.“
