Admittedly, sometimes board games can be difficult, especially when you’re playing them for the first time. And who has time to read the rules? Certainly not Jumanji characters! And if they did read it, it was…
When we think of a board game adapted for film, we immediately think of it Jumanji – which is based on the children’s book itself. In 1995, after seeing Joe Johnston’s cult fantasy adventure film starring Robin Williams, Kirsten Dunst, Bradley Pearce and Bonnie Hunt, many of us became afraid of board games.
The saying “learn by playing” has never been more true than here Jumanji. Set in the heart of a life-size – and deadly – game, the film’s characters had to learn the rules of the game and clearly make mistakes. But as one Reddit user explained, they could finish the game in 10 minutes if they focused on rolling the dice.
So Alan, Sarah, Judy and Peter could win the match in record time without arguing and panicking. In addition, they did not need to be in the parish’s house, as the game could be played anywhere, and there was no need for all four players to sit around the board to continue, only those whose turn it was to roll the dice.
If instead of stopping at each draw to trigger dangerous events, they rolled the dice non-stop, chain-wise, as fast as possible, they’d win in record time. Of course, if they had, there would be no movie!
Anyway, now that you know it, I suggest you always listen carefully to the rules of the game you’re playing, it could be a matter of life and death…
And remember all of this the next time you watch Jumanji, which is available to stream on Netflix!
