“My parents didn’t recognize me!” : Pier Nin’s transformation into the Count of Monte Cristo impresses even his family

Adapted from the literary work of Alexandre Dumas Père, the feature film follows the young Edmond Dantes. A victim of a conspiracy, she was arrested on her wedding day for a crime she did not commit. A lot of prep work was needed to turn Edmond Dantes into the Count of Monte Cristo. Pierre Nin The press kit explains that he tried several times before finding the perfect avatar for his character: “We did at least four tests for Monte Cristo and two tests for his main avatar. These moments allowed us to judge the physical appearance of the characters: should they have more or less wrinkles, should they be more or less scary? With that, there was already a lot of talk about how we envisioned them.

This is the first time that filmmakers have adapted a novel by essentially changing the face of Monte Cristo. This seemed essential to the credibility of today’s film. Among these avatars, one is a funny character, the opposite of Dantes, who emphasizes Monte Cristo’s cynical pleasure in deceiving his enemies. Make-up from 4 to 6 hours a day

The actor elaborates on the TF1 news set: “I spent 4 to 6 hours on makeup on the days I played Edmond Dantes’ Avatar.. Makeup artists (Editor’s note: Pierre-Olivier Persen and Stephen Robert) He did an incredible job. They are French, but they worked with Brad Pitt and in the TV series Game Of Thrones“.

Pierre Nin adds that these long makeup sessions have allowed him to learn patience…. “The first training was patience! During my two and a half months of filming, I spent 150 hours sitting in a chair doing makeup, not counting the makeup fittings on set. The slight physical transformation session lasted four to six hours…”
