One of the big Star Wars releases of 2024 is the series The Acolyte, now available on Disney+, which debuted in early June, garnering 4.8 million views on its first day.
The story takes place 100 years before the events of the first Star Wars chapter, The Phantom Menace (1999), when a series of assassinations against the Jedi reveals a dark plan of the Black Lake of the Force.
If you are a fan of the saga and you don’t miss anything about Star Wars, you will love to know the details of the series. Below are the names of the cast and some of the characters who are part of the production. Watch!
The Acolyte Cast and Characters
The main cast includes Amandla Stenberg (Death Death Death), Lee Jung-jae (Round 6), Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix), and Dafne Keen (His Dark Materials). The film’s Rotten Tomatoes rating was 92% upon its debut.
Amandla Stenberg as Osha and Mae Aniseya
The actress plays twin sisters who are the protagonists of the series, being on opposite sides of the central conflict in the High Republic. Osha is a former padawan and abandoned her training due to a family trauma: a fire that killed her parents and her sister Mae.
However, a series of assassinations against master warriors disturbs the Jedi Order and Osha discovers that her twin sister may be alive, as well as directly involved in these incidents.
Lee Jung-jae as Master Sun

A Jedi Master renowned among his peers, Sol was responsible for training Osha and Mae. Other masters like him are being murdered in mysterious ways, and Sol decides to investigate to find out who is behind these crimes.
Charlie Barnett as Yord Fandar

Yord Fandar is a knight who strictly follows all the ethical conduct required by the Jedi regulations, being promoted to the position of guardian of the Jedi Temples. After the death of some classmates, he begins an investigation to find out who is responsible for the crimes.
Carrie-Anne Moss as Indara

Gifted with great combat skills with the force, the Jedi master is prominent in hand-to-hand combat and defense techniques that use only this metaphysical energy. The character is one of Mae’s first targets, opening suspicions about the master’s past and his involvement in her personal tragedy.
Rebecca Henderson as Vernestra “Vern” Rwoh

She is one of the most prominent Jedi of her generation, achieving high performances in the order during her adolescence. By the age of 15, her progressive performances earned her a leadership position within the order. The character has a purple lightsaber that can also be used as a whip.
Jodie Turner-Smith is Mother Aniseya

Mother Aniseya opens the door to witchcraft in the Star Wars galactic universe, as a character who leads a feared group of witches on the planet Brendok. It is important to remember, however, that the theme of witchcraft in the universe has already been hinted at during the Clone Wars animation, as well as in the recent Ahsoka series.
Dafne Keen as Jecki Lon

She is the apprentice of Master Sol, being a half-human and half-Theelin hybrid, one of the many alien races that exist in Star Wars. At a young age and very mature, in addition to high-level technical skills, Dafne embarks with her master in the investigation of the murders of other Jedi.
Joonas Suotamo as Master Kelnacca

Known to Star Wars fans and connoisseurs thanks to the character Chewbacca, the alien race of Wookiees has its own group represented by a Jedi master named Kelnacca. His interpreter is the 2.11 meter tall Finnish basketball player Joonas Suotamo, who played Chewbacca in the last films of the saga.
Manny Jacinto is Qimir

Qimir is one of the con artists in the new plot, a mysterious former smuggler now working as a trader. He admires neither the Jedi nor the High Republic, being indifferent to the way the two groups conduct politics. However, the crimes committed against the warriors place the character directly involved in the investigation.
