Chicago Med: An iconic character leaves the series at the end of season 9

Bad news for Chicago Med fans. As many feared following the Season 9 finale, Dr. Crockett Marcel is preparing to hang up his coat and leave Gaffney Chicago Medical Center.

Dominic Raines is leaving the series

According to exclusive information DeadlineDominic Raines, who has been playing emergency surgeon Crockett Marcel since Season 5, will definitely be leaving the cast of Chicago Med. The season 9 finale of Chicago Med, which aired on May 22, left the door open for the actor’s potential departure.

In this episode, Sharon Goodwin (S. Epatta Merkerson) advised Crockett to take all the time he needed to recover from the deaths of two of his patients, a father and son. A boy has died after a doctor canceled his liver transplant due to an infection, despite his father’s insistence that not going ahead with the operation would be tantamount to a death sentence for his son.

The devastated father committed suicide after the death of his son. A story that deeply moved Crockett after he lost his daughter to leukemia.

As of now, NBC has yet to reveal whether Dominic Raines will reprise his role in Season 10, which airs next fall on the American channel, to offer a conclusion to his character.

Departures that follow each other

It’s been a few seasons since the trip to Chicago Med. Last April, co-showrunners Diane Frolov and Andrew Schneider announced they were leaving the medical series at the end of its ninth season.

During Season 8, the Dick Wolf fiction was also marked by three departures: Guy Lockard, who played pediatrician Dr. Dylan Scott from Season 7, as well as Nick Gelfuss (Dr. Will Halstead) and Brian Tee (Dr. Ethan Choi), the two actors have been in Chicago since 2015.

Season 9 of Chicago Med is set to air on TF1 in the coming months. The first seven seasons are available on Amazon Prime Video.
