Former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) was blocked on the PA 275 highway, at the entrance to the Pará municipality of Parauapebas, due to a blockade caused by the protest of farmers linked to the Federation of Family Farming Workers (Fetraf). The act is a protest against Bolsonaro’s arrival in the municipality.
The road closure occurred between 9 and 10 a.m. and was attended by about 200 people. According to the protesters, the blockade is a response to the Bolsonaro administration’s neglect of family farming in Pará. They point to the closure of the Ministry of Agrarian Development (MDA) in the last government and the interruption of agrarian reform in Pará. the state.
“Farming families will never forget the long years of neglect of the sector and the production of healthy foods,” said Noemi Gonçalves, coordinator of Fetraf in Pará. The blockade was lifted after about an hour.
Bolsonaro is touring the municipalities of Pará to support the launch of pre-candidacies and affiliations to the PL in the state.
