Unbreakable even on Netflix! Ben Affleck and Matt Damon are reuniting for the thriller Platform

Netflix has roped in Ben Affleck and Matt Damon for its next major feature film. Titled RIP, the film is described as “A crime thriller” according to Deadline But the main plot lines are still unknown. The platform won the tender while several studios were competing for the rights to the project.

RIP will be written and directed by Joe Carnahan, director of Narc and Mi$e à Prize, which has already starred Ben Affleck. The thriller is produced by the star and Matt Damon’s company Artists Equity.

A few months ago, another Netflix project, Animals, was announced with two actors, this time directed by Ben Affleck himself. The latter, a sequel to Mr. Wolf 2 in which he reprises his role, put the film on hold.

The inseparable duo last starred opposite each other on screen in 2023 on Air – live in France on Prime Video. A biopic about the historic partnership between basketball star Michael Jordan and Nike sports marketing director Sonny Vaccaro.

In 1998, Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, aged 27 and 25 respectively, won the Academy Award for Best Screenplay for Gus Van Sant’s Good Will Hunting with Robin Williams.

While RIP doesn’t have a release date yet, the thriller could hit Netflix in 2026.
