President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva denied accusations that he was “tired” in the wake of anti-aging comments received from US President Joe Biden. The chief executive then called on those who accuse him of being tired to follow their agendas.
“I see a lot of editorials saying I’m tired because of Biden, in the United States,” the president said. “So to anyone who thinks I’m tired, I invite you to set a schedule with me during my term,” he said.
“If he can stand to wake up at 5 a.m. and go to bed at midnight every day, then he can say I’m tired,” he replied. “I want to see who says I’m tired, who sits on his butt in a chair writing, has the courage to get up and go for a walk.”
The statements took place this Friday, 5, during the inauguration ceremony of the Academic and Administrative Building of the Paulista School of Politics, Economics and Business (EPPEN – Unifesp) in Osasco, São Paulo. In his speech, Lula mentioned the various visits to the States made in recent weeks, with an eye on the municipal elections.
The president then said that the first lady, Rosangela da Silva, is an “eyewitness” to his physical condition. “When I say I’m 70 years old, I’m 30 years old, I’m 20 years old, I speak with knowledge.”
