Footage of a man throwing a cat off a bridge in Lanusei, Sardinia, has sparked outrage in Italy.
In the video, shared by the attacker himself on messaging apps, he and a group of friends seemed to be enjoying the attack, as laughter can be heard in the midst of the act.
Following complaints from some animal rights associations, the Italian authorities have already identified the man and revealed that he was accompanied by two other minors.
“We need serious measures and severe sanctions, which are a warning and above all adequate to put an end to this growing wave of unbridled and uncontrollable violence,” said Cosetta Prontu, president of an Italian NGO.
