Midfielder Fausto Vera was out of space at Corinthians and welcomes his return to work with Gabriel Milito
The soap opera involving Fausto Vera, Corinthians and Atlético-MG has won a new episode this Thursday (11). After all, the sale was agreed for 4.5 million dollars (R$ 24.7 million). Atlético’s sporting director, Victor Bagy, has in fact confirmed that the transaction is close to being concluded.
– It is a complex negotiation, involving three clubs. We have made progress in concluding the operation. We will soon have good news – commented the director of Atlético-MG in a press conference this morning.
As Victor mentioned, there is a third club involved in the affair. It is Argentinos Jrs, the club that revealed the athlete. This is because Timão has a debt with the Buenos Aires team.

Fausto Vera will have to sign a four-year contract. The athlete received an offer from Boca Juniors, he also thought about the possibility of returning to his homeland, but the player’s decision was influenced by the possibility of working again with Gabriel Milito. They worked together in 2021, at Argentinos Juniors.
The athlete played only six games in the Brasileirão and was not included in the last matches of the competition precisely so as not to reach the seventh match and, thus, be able to play for another team.
Fausto Vera to the Corinthians
Fausto Vera has been at Timão since mid-2022, when he was signed for around R$35 million from Argentinos Juniors, from Argentina. Earlier this year, the club rejected an offer of six million euros (R$32 million at the time) from Greek Olympiacos.
This season, Fausto Vera has appeared on the pitch for Timão in 23 games, with one goal scored and one assist. In fact, in February, Corinthians was ordered to pay 3.45 million dollars (R$17 million) to Argentinos Juniors, plus interest of 18% per year starting from July 2023, for the debt in the payment of the transfer.
